Alison Hammond is set to host the much-anticipated revival of the BBC game show, Hole In The Wall.

The well-loved host from programmes like Great British Bake Off and This Morning is ready to step up as the new face of the BBC series, which enjoyed widespread popularity before ending its run in 2009.

Alison will step into the role once filled by the iconic Dale Winton, who presented the original series, followed by Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke in the second series, the Mirror reports.

Speaking about the return, an insider revealed to The Sun: “Hole In The Wall got great ratings when it first came out so the Beeb have decided to bring it back. They are currently filming the pilot to see how it shapes up. They wanted to sign Alison and she jumped at the chance to do it.”

Further commenting on Alison’s new gig, the source mentioned that she’s “one of TV’s most in demand stars” and the BBC is “over the moon that they’ve signed her.”

Despite this exciting venture, Alison isn’t planning on reducing her commitments to her other television roles.

The insider noted: “Alison adores her job and is always on the lookout for shows where she can have a real laugh – that’s why she loves presenting Bake Off and This Morning. They are light-hearted and fun.”

The format of Hole In The Wall involves celebrities attempting to fit through cut-out shapes in a moving wall. Dressed in spandex suits, the participants face an array of increasingly intricate shapes. The show is an adaptation of a Japanese format. .

In a sweet Valentine’s Day gesture, Alison surprised fans by sharing a rare photo of her toyboy beau, David Putman. The TV presenter, known for keeping her romantic life private, made an exception to celebrate the day of love.

The 50-year-old posted an adorable snap of herself and David, 27, snuggled up together. The couple had faced speculation about a potential split after spending Christmas apart, but the photo seemed to put those rumours to rest.

Alison began dating the masseuse in December 2023, and despite their 23-year age gap, the pair has disregarded criticism. When questioned about her relationship last year, Alison described David as “mature and sensible”.
