A coastal castle near Scotland’s “Town of the Year” is currently looking to hire staff. Barcaldine Castle is a 17th-century tower house castle near Barcaldine, around nine miles north of Oban, that is currently operated as a luxury bed and breakfast.

The successful applicants will be provided with accommodation. This will consist of a “beautiful” fully-equipped one-bedroom apartment with utilities and Council Tax included, while one pet is also welcome.

Other benefits include a housing allowance and on-site parking. You will also receive tips in addition to your monthly salary.

Duties of the jobs will include cleaning guest bedrooms and public areas, laundry, stock management, and welcoming guests. Among the other responsibilities will be working in the residents’ bar and serving at weddings and events.

The successful applicants will work 42 hours per week each. They will be given one full day off together each week, as well as two half days each.

The job listing on Indeed states: “We are seeking a couple or two friends/family happy to share one bedroom accommodation. Please include a cover message with your application giving the name of the other person you are applying with.

“We regret we can not accept applications from lone applicants due to our limited staff accommodation.”
