Fuming Derek Adams has slaughtered Walsall for being disrespectful and lacking class.
The Morecambe boss was left fuming after his side crashed 2-0 at home to the English League Two leaders. The former Ross County manager went on the warpath, as he claimed Walsall boss Mat Sadler refused to shake hands after he had criticised his team and their weekend antics.
Adams said: “I thought they were disrespectful to us, Walsall. I think (Albert) Adomah doing keepie ups on the far side was disrespectful. I thought (Josh) Gordon blowing kisses to the home support was disrespectful. Their manager then refused to shake hands with me because I said they were disrespectful. They were disrespectful. That’s not how you act as a team at the top of the league.
“What they have to remember is they beat a team who were down to 10 men and they didn’t create any big opportunities. If that is the way they want to do things then they won’t last long in the game.
“You must be professional and act in the proper manner. You must shake hands and you must deal with the circumstances. On the day they’ve let themselves down.
“Yes, they have won the game but class, be classy when you win games. (On Saturday) They lacked class.”
