Georgetown residents can use the service to report issues like potholes, traffic signal problems and park maintenance concerns.

GEORGETOWN, Texas — Getting help from the local government just got easier for people in Georgetown.

The city launched a new service called askGTX to help residents connect with city services.

The service works similarly to 311 in other cities and can be accessed through the website or by phone. The city also plans to launch a smartphone app.

Georgetown residents can use the service to report issues like potholes, traffic signal problems and park maintenance concerns. It can also help answer questions about city programs like water rebates.

“We are excited to introduce askGTX to provide an easy way for residents and visitors to find information, report an issue to us, or get connected to City services,” City Manager David Morgan said. “With the askGTX platform and our trained ambassadors, we have simplified resident interactions with the City with the goal of offering a better customer service experience as well as increased efficiency in our operations.”

The askGTX service is staffed with nine employees and has an annual budget of $1.1 million.

Georgetown residents can connect with askGTX online 24 hours a day or by phone on weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 512-930-2489.
