Horrific images have emerged of a murdered Scots businessman whose body was found stuffed in a sack in Kenya.

Campbell Scott, from Dunfermline, Fife, was found dead about 60 miles outside of Nairobi in a forest on Saturday with his hands and legs bound with rope.

Now – as local police confirm the arrest of two people and prepare to carry out a postmortem today – graphic images of what appear to be the 58-year-old’s remains lying at the scene have been posted online.

Scott arrived in Nairobi’s affluent Westlands district for a business trip on February 15. He was last seen the following night with an unidentified man, having been to a nightclub.

Chilling CCTV footage emerged yesterday showing his last known movements as he strolled through a car park wearing a blue top adorned with the Scotland flag on the shoulder and shorts.

A disturbing image showing what appears to be Scott’s body, dressed in the same clothes he was last seen wearing and lying on his back on an opened sack, has appeared on social media.

Lying next to him in the image are pineapples – which authorities revealed were found in the sack alongside the body. It’s suspected his attackers were trying to pass themselves off as fruit vendors if they were stopped at a roadblock with the corpse.

One post written on Facebook said: “May God punish those who did that.”

Scott was in the city for a conference at the JW Marriott hotel, where he was staying with colleagues in his capacity as a senior director for credit scoring firm FICO.

On Saturday police received a report that a cattle herder had seen a body inside a sack, which was later identified as Campbell Scott.

On Monday, it was confirmed that his body had been found in the Makongo Forest. Local media said signs of torture and strangulation were found on his body. It is expected that an autopsy will be carried out later today.

Two men, a taxi driver and a nightclub waiter, have reportedly been arrested in relation to his death.

FICO, where Scott had been employed since 2014, have expressed their heartbreak over the tragedy, saying: “We mourn his passing and will miss his humor and kindness.”

The CCTV image is believed to have been taken shortly before he went missing in Nairobi on Sunday, February 16.

It’s understood that Scott had frequented several bars and nightspots prior to his disappearance, reports the Daily Record.

Local media reported that Scott appeared to be in high spirits and was mingling with hotel staff.

The businessman left his hotel at 11.15am that Sunday, with his colleagues under the impression that he was going for a walk to shake off jet lag before their presentation at the business conference. However, he did not return and attempts to ring his phone at 6pm and 7pm failed.

They filed a police report and a search was launched, with Interpol later joining the investigation.

UK Embassy officials and police investigators in Nairobi travelled to Makueni on Monday, following the reports of a gruesome discovery in the nearby forests by local herders who found a body in a green sack on Saturday.

The Foreign Office previously commented: “We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Kenya and are in contact with the local authorities.”
