Emmerdale‘s long standing character Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, has hinted at a potential exit from the village following a heated confrontation with Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).
The tension escalated after Caleb tried to pin Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) murder on Cain.
As the Dingles and Milligans’ feud intensified, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), who had disposed of Anthony’s body, attempted to defuse the situation, warning, “We could get in serious trouble if you go shouting your mouth off.”
Caleb hit back, saying, “He knows what could happen; he is just an idiot” and insisted, “I am protecting my own just like you should be.”
Chas Dingle, stepping in, told Cain: “Cain, Caleb is right. He is just looking out for everyone. We need to trust each other.”
Cain sarcastically replied, “Is that right? ” and then disclosed, “Are you going to tell them or am I? Ok, he tried to frame me for Anthony. It doesn’t matter when, it just matters that he tried.”
Cain then issued a stark warning before leaving: “If he can’t get at me, it’ll be one of you lot next. Just so you know, if you try anything like that again and I am willing to do time, a long time because you’ll be joining Anthony.”
The big question now is whether Cain will act on his threat, which could lead to life behind bars. Elsewhere in the episode, a new character’s arrival in the village sparked rumours about possible connections to either Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) or Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), reports Leicestershire Live.
At a church vigil where the local community came together to pay their respects, an unexpected figure drew attention. A man nobody seemed to notice except for Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell), wearing a long brown coat, made his entrance just as the proceedings got underway.

His sudden presence stirred quite the buzz among avid viewers who flocked online with their suspicions.
On one fan Facebook page, a user pondered: “So who was the guy who went to the vigil in the brown overcoat? Black curly hair and black beard, a bit random.”
The response from the community was a mix of humour, with comparisons drawn to celebrity designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, to serious musings about the mystery guest’s potential role in the ongoing drama: “I thought he might be relevant to the story.”

Conversations developed further as one suggested, “I thought something to do with Suzy,” with another adding, “Think he’s tied in with the Joe storyline.”
Agreement and further theorising ensued as onlookers speculated that perhaps the stranger could be connected to Suzy’s past, with guesses such as a previous marriage thrown into the mix.
