Members of a West Lothian running club were delighted with the success of its latest event.
TRC (The Running Club) is a completely free local community running club based in West Lothian.
It was formed just under two years ago by Calum Polland, Shaun Rafferty and Jordan Whyte to provide people a safe space to run, promote health and wellbeing whilst having a community vibe with a great social aspect.
On Saturday, February 22, TRC hosted its latest event sponsored by Red Bull, which saw around 120 members come together and run a 5k route around Bathgate.
A TRC spokesperson said: “We are looking to get the word out about our club to be able to share these exciting events with local members of the community.
“TRC is aiming to host a West Lothian half marathon either this year or next which is currently in the pipeline for us. TRC provides a minimum of three weekly runs that’s consist of Monday 5k, Thursday 10k & Friday 5k.
“TRC also hosts a female only run every second Wednesday. Each of the scheduled runs all start and end within West Lothian. Our group motto is no one is left behind.
“There is always a competent club member at the front and back of the running group to support, encourage and motivate runners. TRC has been a fantastic outlet to bring the local community together to promote health both physically and mentally.”
TRC provides a safe and positive environment that is open to anyone. People can find more information by going to TRC on Instagram (@therunningclub2023) or search The Running Club on Facebook.
