AUSTIN, Texas — Two Ascension Seton hospitals in the Austin area have been named to Newsweek and Statista’s annual list of the World’s Best Hospitals.
Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin and Ascension Seton Hays were named to the annual list, which is part of a series that began in March 2019 recognizing hospitals across the world for their expertise and performance across nearly a dozen medical fields.
The list is compiled based on data accrued on more than 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries, with a Global Top 250 list that highlights the top hospitals worldwide based on peer recommendations, quality indicators and a bibliometric score.
The score is based on an online survey of more than 85,000 medical experts and public data from patient surveys on their general satisfaction after their stint in a hospital. The score also factors in metrics on things like hygiene, patient-to-doctor ratio and a Statista survey on whether hospitals use Patient Reported Outcome Measures, which are standardized questionnaires completed by patients to assess their experience and results.
“We are truly honored to be recognized on the 2025 list of the World’s Best Hospitals, which is a testament to the dedication of our caregivers who consistently provide quality, compassionate care for all,” Andy Davis, president and CEO of Ascension Texas, said in a Wednesday news release. “We’re proud to be recognized for the care our mission-driven associates provide to our community every day.”
The World’s Best Hospitals 2025 list contains institutions from across 30 countries, including the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Canada, India, Australia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Austria, Thailand, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Israel, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Chile and Malaysia.
