Marley Watkins is out to ruin Barry Ferguson’s big night and add more misery to Rangers’ domestic campaign.

The Kilmarnock striker has his eyes set on the top six once again and knows after a slow start they need to win games in order to get back into that top half of the table party – and open up the possibilities of European football once again next term. Victory for Derek McInnes’ men will move them level with St Mirren – currently in sixth spot.

Ayrshire has always been a tricky venue for the likes of Rangers and Celtic in recent years. Kilmarnock have beaten both in the past and the striker has told the Light Blues the three reasons why they could head back home with another defeat on the CV. He told Sky Sports: “I just think it is a tough place to come. We are a good organised team, the gaffer has us knowing our roles, we are organised and hard to beat. We also have quality in the team.

“I think this season with the Europe thing and the silly red cards at the start have set us back and now we need wins to make up for it and get into that top six. That is what we plan to do.

“I think every game is winnable. We will have a game plan and we just need to execute it well. We are capable of beating them. They are obviously a good team and they will be favourites but at our best we can give anyone a game here.”
