Thousands of Amazon customers complained of service issues on Wednesday, starting shortly before 1 p.m. ET.

More than 9,000 users reported they were having trouble with the online retailer’s website, according to Down Detector. The overwhelming majority appeared to be issues with the checkout function not working.

“Clicking the Checkout button takes me to a loop for recommended items,” wrote one unhappy consumer. “Amazon, you have our billions, get [your] s–t together.”

Several Down Detector commenters said they were unable to purchase items online, but successfully placed their orders through the Amazon app.

Of those who complained, 91% said they faced problems while checking out, while 5% noted shopping cart issues. The mobile app was problematic for just 4% of respondents.

A heat map showing where the problems were reported indicated the majority came from New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle, where Amazon is headquartered.

However, the outages appeared to have largely declined by around 2 p.m. Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment on caused the checkout issues.
