Perth Leisure Pool’s training and teaching pools were temporarily closed on Friday due to an issue with the water.
Immediate action was taken and the pools reopened to the public the following day.
Live Active Leisure has apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
Live Active Leisure operates Perth Leisure Pool on behalf of Perth and Kinross Council. The water in each of the venue’s pools is checked several times a day. And testing on Friday showed an issue with the water in both the teaching and training pools.
On Friday, February 21,Live Active Leisure issued the following statement: “Our swimming pool water is tested multiple times per day to ensure the comfort and safety of our bathers. Our most recent test this afternoon indicated that action was required to ensure that the pool water in the training and teaching pools remained within normal operating parameters.
“This action requires us to drain some pool water and to top it up with fresh water, whilst this is a routine process, unfortunately the training and teaching pools will have to close whilst this is carried out.
“The rest of the building including the leisure water, Monkey Jungle and flumes remain open as normal and we are confident that training and teaching pools will reopen from tomorrow, Saturday 22nd February.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and will provide a further update later this evening.”
On Saturday, Live Active Leisure announced that – following its action and additional tests – the water levels in the teaching and training pools had returned to “within the normal operating range”. Both reopened to the public on Saturday.
A Live Active Leisure spokesperson added: “Thank you for your patience whilst this issue was rectified.”
The latest closure comes just weeks after an issue with the boilers over Christmas resulted in the closure of the entire facility until mid January.
