WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, Sen. Jim Justice (R-W.Va.) introduced Raleigh County native, and County Commissioner Greg Duckworth to speak during a Special Committee on Aging hearing.

The hearing, titled “Combating the Opioid Epidemic,” heard from a range of witnesses, detailing their communities’ experiences in dealing with, and fighting back against the issue. During his testimony, Duckworth noted “this crisis is devastating families, affecting our aging population…This is not just a crisis of individuals, it’s a crisis of generations. Children lose parents, and grandparents are forced back into parenting and communities crumble.”
