If you haven’t yet bought yourself an air fryer, you’ve likely had a few friends and family members badger you about how great they are. They’re not wrong: if you’re looking for a quicker, cheaper, and less-fatty way to cook your meals, they’re a terrific investment.

The likes of Ninja win most plaudits for air fryer quality, but there are some lesser-known brands that are well-worth considering. One highlight in that arena is the Haden 12L Dual Air Fryer, currently available for £79.98 down from £99.

At 2400W, it costs 1p per minute to run. Within a couple of minutes it will be fully heated up, unlike a conventional oven which takes far longer, and it will then be ready to evenly cook your food with little to no oil. With 10 preset cooking functions and a manual override whenever you need it, it’s a dab hand at quickly, thoroughly and evenly cooking everything from chips to vegetables to chickens.

Its 12L capacity is split between two independently-operable drawers, and those can be synced up so that they finish at the same time when you’re cooking multiple things. The drawers are dishwasher-friendly and easy to clean by hand as well.

While reviews for this air fryer are limited, Haden itself has a great reputation at Trustpilot with an average score of 4.5 out of 5 across almost 400 reviews so far. “Our air fryer broke down within the two year period and they replaced it immediately even though we couldn’t find the original receipt,” said one five-star review. “Also the new one came with all recyclable packaging, no plastic which I was pleased with.”

“Phoned customer services yesterday – what a surprise, I spoke to a human,” said another five-star appraisal. “Extremely helpful and got the problem sorted. I emailed them with the information they needed and got a reply back within 15 minutes and a further email saying what I needed will be dispatched within 48 hours. It’s a shame other companies don’t take a business model from Hadens.”

Another added: “From requesting advice, the service has been above and beyond my expectations. This company look after their clients, and have kept me updated along the way. I sent info about issue, along with photos, received returns info. Now have a brand new replacement, that still matches all the other items I bought. Cannot thank them enough.”

Others have been less impressed with the customer service, however. “I purchased a kettle just under two years ago which has sadly developed a fault,” began one three-star review. “I have provided proof of purchase etc which they requested however they are asking for a video of the kettle being switched on, I have sent a few videos but they have informed me they are unable to view them. I emailed again today for an update so I’m waiting to hear back. This has gone on for a month.”

There’s also a smattering of reports around manufacturing faults: “Not sure I can recommend their kettles in good conscience as mine stopped working altogether after just a few weeks. However, Jo in the customer services team was extremely helpful and understanding.”

If you’d rather stick to a big name, the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer for £199.99 is an absolute beast that will more than satisfy all your air frying needs. Elsewhere in the budget space, there’s the Living and Home 9L Touch Screen Dual Basket Air Fryer for £77.99.

For a dual-drawer air fryer that punches well above its price point, the Haden 12L Dual Air Fryer is a bargain at £79.98.
