AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is upon us and, as always, there are a ton of things happening in the Austin area! From racecars to a renaissance fair, there’s no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.
Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.
NASCAR at COTA
The EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix returns to the Circuit of the Americas this weekend. NASCAR Xfinity and IMSA races will happen Friday and Saturday, and the NASCAR Cup Series Race will be held Sunday afternoon.
There will also be plenty of other fun at the track, from the Speedway Experience and live music, to an aerial troupe and pig races.

Sherwood Forest Faire
The 16th Annual Sherwood Forest Faire opens this weekend in McDade, Texas, 35 miles east of Austin.
The faire features more than 150 shows per day, from puppet performances and theatrical productions to jousting competitions and glass-blowing demonstrations. There’s also more than 170 “artisan shoppes,” selling everything from apothecary wares to leatherwork, and lots of food options, including – of course – turkey legs.
If you want to make it out to the faire but can’t during opening weekend, fear not. The event continues every weekend through April 20 and will also be open on Friday, March 21.

Texas Independence Day
Hotel Vegas is celebrating “Texas Forever” this weekend on Sunday, March 2 – Texas Independence Day. The event will include a market featuring local vendors, free two-step lessons, Texas tattoos and live music all night, including a ZZ Top tribute performed by Amplified Heat.
When: Doors at 5 p.m. Sunday
