
WEST VIRGINIA – Governor Patrick Morrisey announced the release of $1,075,792.00 in Justice Assistance Grant program fund 40 projects statewide.
In our area, a collective $55,000 will go to three separate localities to fund Prevention Resource Officers (PROs). A press release says PROs will “act as mentors, role models, and advocates for students in West Virginia schools.”
The City of Beckley and the Monroe County Commission will respectively receive $15,000 for PRO funding and the Wyoming County Commission will receive $25,000.
