
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -In a press release given to WVVA by Chief J.J. Ruble, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department says on Friday, February 28th around 8:00 am, deputies responded to a breaking and entering at the Ramey Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat dealership. Upon investigation, it was discovered that this dealership and the nearby Ramey Toyota dealership had both been burglarized, with multiple keys and a temporary tag stolen. In addition, a 2022 Dodge Charger was also taken, which was seen leaving the lot around 10:43 pm the previous day, Thursday, February 27th.
A “Be On the Lookout” was issued to multiple jurisdictions in both West Virginia and Virginia. On Friday, the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department pursued the burnt orange Charger, ending when the Charger crossed into West Virginia on Brushfork Road. The vehicle was then found abandoned by Sgt. Addair and Cpl. Mason off Greenwood Road. It was later towed to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department where it was processed for evidence.
Detective Corporal Hatfield and Deputy Nelson are leading the investigation, which remains ongoing at this time.
