Like the Grammys and other awards shows this year, the ceremony will be transformed by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

LOS ANGELES — After the devastating wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area, it wasn’t certain if the Oscars would continue, but now the 97th Academy Awards are almost here.

Like the Grammys and other awards shows this year, the ceremony will be transformed by the fires and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has pledged to help its members and the broader film community recover.

After an abnormally packed awards season that included the Emmys, Grammys, Screen Actors Guild Awards, BAFTAs and Golden Globes, the Academy Awards will hand out filmmaking’s top honor in 23 categories Sunday.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s show:

What time do the 2025 Oscars start?

The Oscars are keeping with their earlier schedule this year, starting again at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific on Sunday, March 2. ABC is hosting and available with an antenna or through cable and satellite providers.

Where can I stream the Oscars?

For cord cutters, the show can be streamed with a subscription to Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV and Fubo TV. Users with cable can also stream the full show on ABC’s app or ABC.com if they sign in with their provider.

I don’t live in the U.S. How can I watch the Oscars?

The Oscars are widely broadcast beyond the U.S. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has a guide of networks available to those outside the U.S.

How to watch the Oscars red carpet

The Oscars red carpet is a major fashion showcase. Oscar nominees and winners from past, present and future pose and mingle ahead of the ceremony.

The carpet will begin at 3:30 p.m. Eastern/12:30 p.m. Pacific. It will be watchable from ABC and Hulu ahead of the award show.

ABC will air its “Countdown to Oscars: On the Red Carpet Live!” beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern on ABC News Live.

The Associated Press will have a livestream of stars’ arrivals and interviews in a pair of livestreams available on APNews.com and YouTube. Other outlets, like E! News and local ABC stations may start programming as early as 8 a.m. Eastern/11 a.m. Pacific.

Is there any way to watch the Oscars after parties?

Oscar winners, and even stars who aren’t at the ceremony, flock to the Vanity Fair party after the show is over. It’s where newly-minted Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh, Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan were mobbed in 2023, and Will Smith and family danced the night away after the infamous Slap moment and his best actor win in 2022.

The AP will livestream stars arriving at the Vanity Fair party beginning at 11 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Pacific on YouTube.
