(InvestigateTV) — AAA projects 2025 to be the third straight year a record number of passengers set sail on a vacation cruise.
Morgan Dean with AAA said they saw this segment of the tourism industry roar back after the pandemic.
Dean said shorter cruises are rising in popularity, but the average cruise still lasts between six to eight days.
He urged those considering a cruise to shop around and read the reviews.
“See what you really want to do,” Dean suggested. “See some of the things that are recommended at that port of call. What would you like to do while you’re there and go ahead and book those. And watching some of the prices on them around some of the holidays and some of the deal days you could actually see those drop pricewise. And get some good deals on some of those things.”
He said pay attention to any deals including drink or internet packages to get a lower price point. Good research plus flexibility while booking the trip can help save money as well.
“That flexibility can offer you some opportunities to even save money,” Dean explained. “If you don’t have to leave on a certain day and you don’t have to come back on a certain day and you’re not tied to definitely going to these three or four ports during a tour you might be able to find some real deals out there, where there’s some opportunities maybe at the last minute.”
Dean said downloading the cruise line’s app can be a valuable tool, helping travelers avoid potential hassles.
He also recommended arriving at the port city a day early to reduce travel stress and noted that travel agents can be a helpful resource when booking a cruise.
