Ninja is one of the biggest names in the air fryer market – and their latest compact product that’s designed to snugly fit into kitchen cabinets is sure to be another success story.

Retailing at £179.99, the new Ninja Crispi serves as a versatile and portable gadget. It features a unique twist with its fry basket substituted for a glass dish which not only acts as a lunch box, but also doubles as a meal prep vessel for marinating or storing leftovers.

Whether you’re looking to air fry, keep food warm, roast, or re-crisp, this handy new device packs the prowess of a full-size air fryer without the bulk, according to the renowned kitchenware brand.

Ninja announced: “Simply snap the lightweight, handheld 1700-watt PowerPod onto one of the glass cooking containers to create family-size meals and personal portions with four cooking functions. Plus, cook with up to 50 per cent less energy than a fan oven.”

The concept echoes that of a handheld blender – just place the PowerPod atop either of the two TempWare Glass Containers (1.4L or 3.8L) and fire it up to 185°C to perfectly cook and crisp your food.

A handy tip for using the Ninja Crispi is that you can season and prepare your food straight in the glass bowls provided, and then once cooked, it’s ready to be served directly onto the table without needing another dish.

For those wanting to save leftovers or prep meals for future use, Ninja suggests adding one of the BPA-free covers, reports the Mirror. “The smaller container includes a leak-resistant snap-lock lid to take your meal on-the-go, mess-free. Do it all in one container to save on washing up,” the company said.

Ninja enthusiasts are smitten with the product. One five-star reviewer commented: “The glass baskets are a winner for me, letting you see your food as it cooks and the fact leftovers can also be stored in those is a great idea. I also found it easier to clean than our existing Ninja dual basket air fryer.”

Another chimed in: “Stacks well for storing away if needed or if kept out it looks aesthetically pleasing.”

Nevertheless, some users have pointed out that the Ninja Crispi might not be large enough to cook meals for a big family. A user who tested the product noted: “I cooked enough chips to feed three people and it took over 45 minutes to cook them well enough. It is good for cooking things like chicken, fish, sausages etc and you can put your veggies in around it to make a full meal almost for two people depending on your portion size.”

Retailing at £179.99, the Ninja Crispi includes two glass containers, with the larger 3.8L tub capable of cooking a whole 1.2kg chicken, two storage lids and two non-stick Crisper plates.

Alternatively, Philips offers an air fryer that also functions as a steamer, the 5000 Series Dual Basket with Steam, available on Amazon for £249.99. If you find storing oddly shaped objects challenging, the Sage The Smart Oven Pro could be a better option. It comes with 10 pre-set cooking instructions and is available at Lakeland for £264.99.
