The pool closed for routine maintenance on March 1 and will remain closed for two weeks.

AUSTIN, Texas — As tens of thousands of visitors get ready to pour into Austin for South by Southwest (SXSW), one of the city’s biggest events of the year, many of them may be planning to take a dip in the city’s most famous pool. But unfortunately for swimmers, that won’t be happening.

Barton Springs Pool is currently closed for its annual “spring cleaning,” a round of planned routine maintenance that happens to coincide with SXSW this year.

The pool closed on March 1 and will remain closed through Friday, March 14 –  nearly the entire duration of SXSW, which ends on Saturday, March 15.

But visitors and locals alike who are looking to cool off still have a few options! Swimmers can visit any of the city’s other year-round pools, which include Bartholomew, located at 1800 E. 51st St.; Big Stacy at 700 E. Live Oak St.; Deep Eddy at 401 Deep Eddy Ave.; and Springwoods at 13320 Lyndhurst St.
