AUSTIN, Texas — More felony charges have been filed against Mitchell Wasek, the son of Buc-ee’s co-founder Don Wasek.
In 2024, Mitchell Wasek was formally charged with 21 felony counts of invasive visual recording following an incident at his family’s property on Lake Travis in Spicewood. Now new court documents also accuse him of possessing child pornography.

According to the documents, electronic devices were seized while searching the house in Spicewood. During a search of the devices, two files were found with suspected “child sexual assault material.” The affidavit states that the files contained graphic images of girls between 5 and 18 years old, along with images of sexual acts.
The images were submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to compare them to victims in their database. According to the affidavit, the FBI verified three separate photos aligned to make one frame of a 7-year-old exposing herself, including one image that involved an adult man explicitly sitting with the 7-year-old.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the 7-year-old’s identity and tied her to a suspect who pleaded guilty to producing child pornography in 2014. Authorities also confirmed those images of the 7-year-old were distributed on the internet for purchase.
After the discovery, Mitchell Wasek was charged with felony possession of child porn.
The new charge comes after 13 victims claimed he also used spy cameras to record them inside his home without consent. Those victims told authorities that they found a charging port with a hidden camera plugged into a wall in the bathroom.
During that investigation, authorities found 68 videos containing at least 13 people filmed in eight separate rooms. An investigation of Mitchell Wasek’s purchase history also showed several hidden camera devices sent to multiple addresses.
