MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Dealing with empty jugs and dirty dishes is what life has been like for Ted Floyd, because he says he’s been without water for 16 days.
“Terrible. You can’t do anything. We have to go to my daughter’s house, she lives over in South Williamson. We go over there and fill up some jugs,” Floyd said.
Floyd knows his issue stems from a broken pipe that is waiting to be fixed. For residents of other parts of Mingo County, however, they don’t know what is causing their issues.
Amy Brewster lives on Dan’s Branch Road and says her water has been off and on.
“We’ve been without it currently for 15 days and every time we call to get an answer, there is no answer. The answering service, they refer us to answering service, answering service tells us that to check the Facebook page for updates. Dan’s Branch has been on there one time in 15 days for an update,” Brewster said.
Mingo County residents who haven’t had water issues are also working to get answers for their friends and neighbors.
“So, I have to stand up for like my people and honestly like we deserve better and to get better. We are going to have to stand up for ourselves,” said Baby T Sexton.
WSAZ called the Mingo County Public Service District twice to get answers. Both times, their line was busy.
