A 59-year-old man died after his head was bashed in inside a Bronx Safe Haven apartment building early Wednesday, police said.
The victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he died, after falling unconscious in the building on E. 146th St. near Third Ave. in Mott Haven just after midnight. He had suffered trauma to his head and face, cops said.
The building is a Safe Haven run by the nonprofit Comunilife that offers supportive transitional housing for people with HIV, mental illness or other chronic conditions.
The city Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine exactly how he died but cops have deemed the case a homicide.
No arrests have been made.
