WEST VIRGINIA – Governor Patrick Morrisey and WorkForce West Virginia have announced that Disaster Unemployment Benefits are now available for those impacted by floods in the 4 counties declared Major Disasters by the White House.

“Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) applies to losses beginning the week of February 16 for eligible people impacted by the severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides,” said Scott Adkins, Acting Director of WorkForce West Virginia.

Residents whose employment has been impacted by the natural disaster in McDowell, Mercer, Wyoming and Mingo counties can apply.

Those who apply must provide proof of past earnings, such as business records or bank statements and income tax forms no more than 21 days after the application has been filed.
