Lorraine Kelly welcomed Kate Cassidy on to her breakfast show on Wednesday, to discuss her involvement in ITV’s new March4March campaign.
The mental health campaign, March4March, was launched to support one in four Brits who suffer with low mood. The goal is to reach at least three million steps – metaphorically walking the entire length of the UK collectively.
Late One Direction star Liam Payne was the forefront of the conversation, following his tragic death back in October when he plunged from a balcony in Buenos Aires at the age of just 31.
Liam, as his former girlfriend Kate highlighted, was very open in discussing his own mental health during his life. “Liam was always very open with his mental health wasn’t he?,” Lorraine pointed out.
Kate explained how she believes Liam has “guided” her to work on the campaign with ITV, in helping other people. “I see the angel number four a lot, and I know he’s with me when I see that.”

“I’ll always have so much love for him, he was one of a kind,” Kate continued. “He just had this comforting energy about him, he really did light up a room and I’ll never forget that about him ever.”
Lorraine appeared emotional in the interview, at one point breaking questioning during the video link interview. “Can I just ask, how actually are you?,” she voiced to Kate, appearing genuinely concerned.
However not all viewers were impressed, as they took to social media following the interview to slam the ITV host. “#lorraine FFS Lorraine knows how everyone feels or would have felt,” quipped one viewer.
One person wrote on Twitter, “@lorraine @ITV using Liam Payne’s name to start a Marching campaign for mental health is one of the most disgusting PR stunts I have seen. You should be ashamed #justiceforliam #lorraine #disrespectful.”
Someone else added, “#Lorraine is so fake! She wouldn’t make it as an actress,” whilst another penned, “Lorraine if you were that sorry, you’d have found someone else for this campaign… #lorraine.”
