ROUND ROCK, Texas — Court documents shed new light on allegations surrounding a former IDEA Round Rock Tech assistant principal.
Authorities said 49-year-old Aaron Freeman was recently arrested for allegedly touching a student inappropriately in February. Freeman was charged with felony indecency with a child for the incident.
The alleged incident happened in the early morning hours of Feb. 21 inside a bookroom on campus when Freeman was with a 15-year-old student who was doing community service hours for college.
The student claimed she was by herself for 10 minutes before Freeman walked in and came face-to-face before nudging her on the shoulder. When the student walked away and reached for something on the bookshelf, Freeman allegedly wrapped himself around her torso and made contact with the student’s breast before tickling her.
Freeman was also accused of telling the student that he could “take her” in a fight.
According to the court documents, the student was hesitant to report the incident due to Freeman’s position but later reported it to leadership. The student’s father then said he wished to pursue charges on behalf of his daughter.
In an interview with authorities, Freeman said he worked at the campus for six years and that he didn’t come in contact with the student often. Freeman also stated that he couldn’t explain what happened in the bookroom and requested a lawyer.
The court documents also accuse Freeman of grabbing the student by her waist during a separate early morning incident to get her service hours packet signed.
Freeman was released from jail on bond Tuesday. Officials with IDEA Public Schools confirmed Freeman was terminated and that its investigation is ongoing.
