AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are offering up to $1,000 for details that help arrest a man they say attacked a woman on a bus earlier this year.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the unidentified suspect assaulted the woman at roughly 9:57 a.m. on Jan. 30 while riding a bus along the 3500 block of Duval Street in Central Austin.
Police said the man punched the woman in the head and face multiple times unprovoked. At the time of the attack, he was seen wearing all black, dressed in jeans, tennis shoes and a sweatshirt with a hood.
Authorities believe the man is unhoused, and he was seen on the bus with bags for laundry and travel, as well as a sleeping bag and other similar items.
APD needs the public’s help identifying the man, and they’re asking anyone with additional details to contact the Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
