(CNN) – The second season of Apple TV’s popular show “Severance” came close to having a presidential cameo.
Ben Stiller, who is an executive producer and director on the show, revealed to Jimmy Kimmel that he asked former President Barack Obama to appear on the show.
Stiller said the role would have been the voice of the Lumon building.
Lumon is a fictional biotechnological company that the series revolves around.
Stiller said he did not ask Obama in person to star in the show but in an email.
The former president responded saying that while he was a big fan of the show, he did not have time in his schedule to make an appearance in it.
The role ended up going to Keanu Reeves, and Stiller said the actor took it quite seriously.
