Police said the woman was riding in the passenger seat of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

AUSTIN, Texas — New details have been released following Tuesday’s deadly crash near the Austin airport.

According to Austin police, a woman was killed when her sedan collided with an Austin Fire engine at the intersection of Stage Highway 71 and Presidential Boulevard.

Police said the fire engine was responding to an emergency incident and had its sirens and lights on display before the crash.

Four personnel from the fire engine were taken to the hospital and released with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the sedan were also taken to the hospital where the woman, who was riding as a passenger, later died.

No criminal charges have been filed in the crash as police continue to investigate.

Police said this is their 10th fatal crash of 2025, which has resulted in 10 deaths. Compared to the same time in 2024, police were investigating 12 crashes that resulted in 12 deaths.
