We all want to make sure our houses are safe while we are away on trips or just going about our daily lives. However, with prices of everyday essentials going up, some of us don’t have hundreds to spare to buy the latest home safety technology.

Lucky for us, Amazon has just halved the price on one of its solar security cameras that over 23,000 people have put their trust into. The Tapo Solar Powered Security Camera Kit usually retails at £99.99, but shoppers can now grab it in a limited time deal for only £49.99.

The Tapo Security Camera is a battery camera that is also equipped with a solar panel, which is said to provide a continuous power supply as well as flexible installation. What makes this a must-have device is that it only needs 45 minutes of daily sunlight to ensure all-day monitoring.

You will be able to clearly see what is going on around your home, as the Tapo Security Camera can capture every detail in crystal-clear 2K resolution. It also used advanced algorithms to ensure perfect exposure during both day and night, meaning you will get vibrant colour night vision up to 30ft away from the camera.

AI technology is also used in the Tapo Security Camera, which will detect relevant events or identify people before sending you an instant notification. The camera is also built to suit your needs as it comes with customisable motion detection, a sound and light alarm, as well as two-way audio.

This security system has been highly recommended by those who have bought it, as over 15,600 shoppers have given the device a five-star rating. One happy customer wrote: “Good product, great image. Really easy to assemble. With the panel attached the battery always stays above 95% even on cloudy days.”

Another shopper added: “These CCTV cameras are absolutely fantastic in EVERY way! They have a high quality build, the solar panel charges well, and the help provided (some spoken) during setup makes installation easy!”

While a third said: “Our ring camera died a few months ago so I gave this a go. It was a quarter of the price of the ring camera so I wasn’t expecting it to be amazing, but I’ve been highly impressed. Its been very simple to set up and the app and instructions on the app are very straight forward. I’m defo going to get a couple more of these cameras.”

However, not everyone was pleased with the security camera, as one person wrote: “This camera is fine by day but it’s pretty useless in the dark. I’ve messed around with the settings and can’t see anything that can be changed to improve the night vision. If you’re after a camera to cover a very well lit area, this is probably fine.”

While another person wasn’t happy about needing to buy an SD card or a subscription: “What isn’t made clear is that in order to view the recorded clips you either have to buy an SD card or take out a cloud storage subscription which costs £25 year. Also the cloud option does not allow your partner to view the clips which for most couples would be very inconvenient.”
