HOPKINS CO., Ky. (WFIE/Gray News) – A man in Kentucky is facing charges after he allegedly locked his co-worker in a room with hot steam at their factory job.
Madisonville police said they spoke with the victim, who told them she works in a factory with 23-year-old Barrett Korinta.
She told them on Wednesday, they were in the “rack washroom,” which sprays 200-degree steam and chemicals on trays.
The victim said Korinta closed and latched the door, purposely trapping her inside.
She said he then turned the machine on, causing the hot steam and chemicals to spray the room.
The woman said she was able to turn it off with an emergency switch before becoming unconscious and falling to the floor.
She was taken to the hospital with injuries to her face and head, including a concussion.
Korinta was fired from the job and booked into jail. He is charged with wanton endangerment and unlawful imprisonment.
