Former reality TV star Teddi Mellencamp updated fans on her battle with cancer, which she revealed last month after doctors discovered multiple tumors in her brain.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum said several of the tumors in her brain “weren’t able to be removed via surgery,” while two others had been found in her lung.
“The doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them,” she wrote.
Mellencamp, 43, said the tumors were all metastases from her previous skin cancer diagnosis, for which she’s undergone roughly 20 operations to deal with various patches of melanoma.
She also posted a selfie showing off her new wig, after having to shave her head for surgery last month.
“I am feeling positive — that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names,” she joked, referring to Angelina Jolie’s six children.
In response, fellow “Housewives” star Kyle Richards wrote, “The best moment! Right after your surgery when you weren’t quite sure what year it was and I said, ‘But I bet she can name all of Angelina Jolie’s kids names’ and you did.”
Mellencamp, the daughter of rocker John Mellencamp, starred on “Beverly Hills” during seasons 8-10 before she was let go in 2020 ahead of the 11th season. She currently hosts the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast with “Orange County” housewife Tamra Judge.
Mellencamp is the mother of three children — Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, 4 — with her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave. She filed for divorce in November after 13 years of marriage.
Despite being in the middle of divorce proceedings, Arroyave has been by Mellencamp’s side as her battles her cancer.
“Lord, I lift up @teddimellencamp to You,” he wrote on Instagram last month, along with a photo of him standing next to Mellancamp’s hospital bed. “You are the Great Healer, and I ask for Your healing touch upon her body. Restore her strength, renew her spirit, and let her feel Your comforting presence. Grant her peace, hope, and full recovery.”
