This three-hour special event features an impressive lineup of entertainment and sports celebrities with ties to the region, including America’s Got Talent winner Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., American Idol champion Noah Thompson, the Davisson Brothers Band and many more. Classic television stars Donny Most (Happy Days) and Julie McCullough (Growing Pains, Sharknado) are joining members of West Virginia Public Broadcasting’s Mountain Stage band for this vital fundraising effort.

The telethon is co-hosted by WVVA’s Joshua Bolden, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., acclaimed actor Kevin Sizemore (Resurrection, Under the Dome, Chicago Fire), and New York Times #1 bestselling author Homer Hickam. Hickam, whose memoir “Rocket Boys” became the hit film “October Sky,” brings a deeply personal connection to the cause, having grown up in Coalwood, McDowell County – one of the areas most severely impacted by recent flooding.
