A woman was beaten by a man with a large stick after he bumped into her inside a lower Manhattan subway station, police said Saturday.
The 29-year-old woman was inside the Fulton St. subway station around 8 p.m. when a stranger bumped into her on the escalator and an argument ensued on Thursday, cops said. The man, who had a large stick resembling an oversized police baton, proceeded to bash her with it repeatedly about her head. The assailant fled from the train station and has not been arrested.
EMS transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital where she was in stable condition.
A video clip of the suspect released by police shows a grinning man wearing a dark coat with its hood up over his head and holding a large stick and a drink in a plastic cup evading paying his subway fare by hopping over a turnstile.
