It is not clear at this time whether the victim was stabbed or shot.

AUSTIN, Texas — Police are trying to figure out what happened to a man who was pronounced dead at a hospital after being found injured in a southeast Austin parking lot.

The Austin Police Department (APD) said officers got a “stab-shot hotshot” call just before midnight in the 2300 block of Douglas Street, near South Pleasant Valley Road and East Oltorf Street. When they arrived on scene, they found a man “severely wounded” in a parking lot.

Officers tried to save the man at the scene, but he later died at a hospital after he was transported by medics.

APD has not said whether the man was shot or stabbed, but investigators are hoping someone with information comes forward.

“We would like to remind you that this is pretty early on in the investigation, and the Homicide Unit will be releasing more information as they are able,” APD Det. Leah Ratliff said.

No arrests have been made, and APD said it is not releasing any suspect information at this time.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact APD or Crime Stoppers.
