MCDOWELL COUNTY W.Va. – Beginning tomorrow, March 11, all McDowell County Schools schedules will shift forward by one hour to allow for the safety of its bus drivers and students.
“This shift provides several important benefits including enhanced visibility for drivers, safety for students at bus stops in unfamiliar locations, improved student safety and a positive impact on mental health,” said a statement by the school system shared on social media.
The school system adds that bus routes will be evaluated as roads improve. You can find the current bus routes here.
The one hour shift in school schedules will last until April 1, 2025.
