A Scottish cabin retreat that has been described as “heaven on Earth” can currently be booked for better than half price.

Eagle Brae is a village resort situated in the Scottish Highlands, located around 25 miles out of Inverness. It is home to a range of log cabins of various sizes that can be rented out for holiday stays.

Currently, a cabin at Eagle Brae can be booked for as little as £399 through voucher website Wowcher. With the normal cost of a stay being £1,055, this marks a discount of 62 per cent.

The cabins at the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice award-winning resort include log fires, cosy furnishings, and green panoramic views. They also feature hand-carved Himalayan wood and majestic red cedar logs, which are designed to reflect the rugged natural beauty of the Highlands.

Looking at travel website Tripadvisor, Eagle Brae has earned very positive feedback from visitors. It currently has an average rating of five stars based on 666 reviews, with no ratings under four out of five.

One review reads: “If there is a Heaven on Earth then it is surely at Eagle Brae. We stayed for seven nights of absolute bliss—the cabin was like nothing else I’ve ever seen in the UK, the food we pre-ordered was delicious, the scenery and wildlife stunning and the start night sky a sight to behold.

“We didn’t venture out too much as the cabin itself was the reason for our visit but there are lots of scenic walks only a short drive away or book some of the local activities through the hosts—black grouse safari and rifle shooting to be recommended.”

A second states: “Eagle Brae is one of the best places we have stayed in, fantastic cabins, there are log cabins and then there is Eagle Brae, they are so warm, fantastic scenery from the cabin, Red deer walking around, very peaceful and so relaxed, we will definitely be back.”

A third Tripadvisor user commented: “A very special place that meets every wish through the attention to detail and thoughtfulness that is used throughout. From the welcoming fresh flowers, the never ending supply of logs for the cosy fire, the delicious home made meals from the concierge, the supply of everything you could possibly need to the stunning views and friendly deer it was perfect.”

However, one four star review highlighted what they believed to be issues with their stay, writing: “Firstly, there was no espresso machine or milk frother (for the price of the cabin charged?) and the smallest under-counter refrigerator. The owner apologised for the refrigerator shelf being missing because it was broken, but offered nothing by way of reimbursement.

“Secondly, the ready meals offered as part of the service are, in my opinion, extortionate and way over the market price (dearer than “Cook”!) even if the finest ingredients have been sourced. This led me to think…how would a family of six, wanting to avoid the extra expense of the over-priced food and alcohol available, be able to stock a small under-counter refrigerator for a week, without having to nip to the local supermarket (CO-OP, Beauly) which is a twenty-five-mile round trip by car?

“I did our grocery shop in Tesco, Inverness before we travelled to the cabin and the fridge wasn’t big enough to hold groceries for two people for a few days.”

There are also other accommodation options in the area if Eagle Brae does not appeal. These include the three-star Cnoc Hotel and the Lovat Arms Hotel in Beauly.
