Streaming our favourite shows has never been easier, but with so many gadgets and smart TVs available to us in store and online, it can be hard to determine the best product. Luckily, Amazon has stepped in with a best-seller that boasts a slick 4.6 out of 5 rating.
Amazon Fire TV Stick HD boasts free and live TV, Alexa Voice Remote, smart home controls, and HD streaming all for the very modest price of £39.99. With access to thousands of free films and TV episodes, you’ll be spoiled for choice – and Alexa can help you easily search and launch shows across multiple apps.
You can also ask the assistant to check weather, dim the lights, view live camera feeds, stream music and more. Elsewhere, endless entertainment can be accessed at the touch of a button with Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ and more to choose from, plus millions of songs.

Caught the travel bug or just generally prefer being on the move with your devices? Take the Fire Stick anywhere and connect to any TV’s HDMI port to access your entertainment apps and enjoy them on the go.
If live TV is your thing, the Amazon Fire TV Stick is the purchase for you, with access to news and sports with subscriptions to Eurosport, ITVX and more.
Customers who have snapped up the Amazon Fire Stick have been raving about it, and it boasts a 4.4 rating on the Amazon website from over 3,000 reviews. It has also been snapped up more than 5,000 times in the last month.

One satisfied telly-lover gushed: “Fantastic streaming, great price, connectivity perfect, easy to access, easy to install. I would recommend for picture quality, easy to use… Buy it. You won’t regret it.”
A second agreed, writing: “Honestly one of the easiest things to set up plugs in fine really good stuff on their best thing from Amazon I’ve bought in years! Really recommend this to anyone. The speed of streaming and flow of programs is perfect and you can easily change and move your apps as well. Such a good product.”
A third shared their experience: “Before this, my TV was basically just a giant, expensive paperweight. Now? It’s my entertainment command centre. Setup was easier than convincing myself to go to the gym.
“Streams everything—movies, shows, even that one obscure documentary you said you’d watch but never will. Voice remote makes me feel like I have a personal assistant… if you still rely on regular TV, welcome to the future—it’s glorious, and it comes with an endless Netflix binge.”

A fourth was extremely complimentary, too, but did recommend going for the 4K model instead, which is more expensive. Leaving 4 out of 5 stars, the woman explained: “I bought this as a replacement, and I’m very impressed!
“The Fire TV Stick HD is incredibly easy to set up and offers excellent reception—there’s no need for an outdoor aerial, which makes it ideal for a bedroom TV…
“In terms of performance, it streams HD content smoothly, and the interface is identical to other Fire TV devices. That said, there are a couple of compromises. It’s slightly slower than the 4K version and only supports Wi-Fi 5 instead of the newer, faster Wi-Fi 6. If you have an HD-only TV and want to save money, this is a brilliant option.
“However, considering the price difference is only around £5–10, I’d recommend going for the 4K model if you can. It offers better processing speeds, improved Wi-Fi, and future-proofing in case you upgrade to a 4K TV later on.”
A less favourable review also noted the Fire TV stick didn’t allow them to watch one app for an unknown reason. They wrote: “I connected this Fire TV Stick to my Samsung TV yesterday. I was able to load all my apps successfully but, ironically, it won’t let me watch Prime Video!
“Keeps saying open app but won’t let me go any further. I checked compatibility with various results i.e. not compatible with my Fire Stick then after trying again it says it is, then again it says it isn’t! Prime doesn’t even show in my list of apps. What is going on? A very poor show.”
You can buy the Amazon Fire Stick for under £40 here.
