PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – An “incident” at Dollywood injured an employee Monday, according to the park’s media representative, Wes Ramey.
Ramey said an employee got hurt, prompting onsite paramedics to respond. From there, the employee was flown to a nearby hospital, Ramey said.
“Dollywood confirms that an incident at the park earlier today resulted in an employee injury,” Ramey said. “Onsite paramedics responded and the employee was airlifted to a nearby medical facility. At this time, our priority is supporting our employee and gathering information. An update will be provided if information becomes available to share.”
The park’s opening day is slated for Friday, when season pass holders are invited to the park. All ticketholders can visit the park starting Saturday.
Tuesday, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Chris Cannon confirmed the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration, better known as TOSHA, is preparing to inspect the park.
