KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The trial against a man accused of killing his girlfriend’s mother and teenage brother entered day three on Thursday.
Double murder trial underway in Kanawha County
Markus Guy is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Both victims, Brooke Carnefix and her 14-year-old son Koda Jarrett, suffered multiple gunshot wounds while inside their home in St. Albans.
On Wednesday, prosecutors and the defense called their witnesses to the stand. 13 witnesses spoke on Wednesday.
Jurors have also seen forensic evidence, including a blood-stained shoe the prosecution said belonged to Guy, along with the murder weapon used.
Thursday morning began with jury instructions.
Closing arguments will begin after lunch, officials said.
