A 57-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman were found dead, one shot in the head, during a grisly discovery inside a Queens home Saturday, officials said.
Cops called to the apartment on 80th St. near 58th Ave. in Middle Village on a report of a man shot about 1 p.m. and found the male victim sprawled out on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head, cops said.
The older woman was also found dead in the home, but there were no immediate signs of trauma, a police source with knowledge of the case said.
No one else was in the apartment, police said.
A handgun was recovered at the scene near the man’s body, leading police to believe that he took his own life, the source said.
It was not immediately clear how the woman died. Autopsies have been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Cops were working on identifying the pair on Saturday. It wasn’t immediately clear if they were related.
