Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce came out of hiding on Friday for date night in New York City, in one of their first public sightings since the Kansas City Chiefs lost the Super Bowl on Feb. 9.
The Grammy winner and tight end, both 35, enjoyed an intimate dinner at Del Frisco’s Grille at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan. The duo were seen sneaking into the back of the steakhouse around 7:30 p.m., according to photos published by TMZ.
The sighting marked a rare one for the couple since Kelce’s Chiefs lost the Super Bowl 22-40 to the Philadelphia Eagles, dashing their hopes for a historic three-peat victory.
Swift and Kelce had been out and about aplenty in the lead-up to the game, including a double date in New Orleans with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
But in recent weeks, the couple have reportedly been keeping a low profile in Park City, Utah. Their presence in the mountain town flew under the radar until earlier this week, when gossip account DeuxMoi shared a video showing the couple leaving the city’s Firewood restaurant the week prior.
It’s unclear whether Swift and Kelce have been lying low due to the recent Super Bowl loss or the many ways in which her name has been mentioned in pal Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
According to reports, the pop superstar hasn’t been happy with the way she’s been dragged into the mess, feeling like her longtime friend leveraged her fame to gain an upper hand on Baldoni amid feuding on the film “It Ends With Us.”
Baldoni’s lawyer previously said he was considering deposing Swift, who happened to be present for one particularly tense meeting between Lively and Baldoni.
