DALLAS — The official 2026 FIFA World Cup theme song for Dallas dropped on Sunday.
Since March 1, FIFA has released 16 city-specific soundscapes that each represent the vibe and atmosphere of the hosting regions. Dallas’ “Sonic IDs” – which was produced by four-time Grammy-winning producer Tre Nagella – came last of the 16.
“It was my job to incorporate the original FIFA World CupTM Theme with the identity and sound of the city, so I chose to integrate and blend together elements of country, hip-hop, R&B, modern and futuristic sounds to represent what the North Texas area is as a diverse metropolitan city,” Tre Nagella said.
The video released Sunday was littered with tributes to iconic Dallas scenes and cultural references matching Nagella’s blend of “country, hip-hop… and futuristic sounds.” Here is a breakdown of those:
The video opens with a view of Dallas’ skyline and then takes the viewer through some of North Texas’s most iconic cultural landmarks including the State Fair’s Texas Star, AT&T Stadium and Billy Bob’s Texas.
Also featured is the Trinity Park basketball court on the banks of the Trinity River in Fort Worth. DFW’s soccer venues also got lots of airtime in the video; Toyota Stadium and the nearby National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco were pictured.
Mi Cocina’s iconic Mambo Taxi also makes an appearance, no doubt a delight to Mi Co’s many DFW fans. Several North Texas Barbecue spots are also featured.
Other iconic scenes include the sun setting in the reflection of Dallas’ skyline, the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge and several of DFW’s major highways. When the Sonic ID transitions into a country vibe, the scenes shift to line dancing, boot fittings and bull rides presumably in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The World Cup trophy itself is pictured inside Reunion Tower and AT&T Stadium, where the matches will be held. In the final shot, you can see the WFAA tower as part of Dallas’ iconic skyline.
