FRANKLINTON, La. (WVUE/Gray News) – Police in Louisiana say they have arrested a mother accused of beating her 8-month-old child to death.
According to Franklinton police, Autumn Hano Harper, 24, was booked into the Washington Parish Jail Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge.
The boy’s father identified the boy as Sterling Rogers.
Police say they were called to Riverside Medical Center last week regarding an 8-month-old child who had suffered severe injuries, including multiple healing bones and broken bones.
The boy was transferred to Children’s Hospital by air, but he died from his injuries on Monday.
Detectives said they identified Harper as the main suspect after interviewing witnesses in the case.
Harper is being held without bond.
Franklinton police said their investigation is ongoing.
