The weather is trying to get warmer and the days are getting longer, which can only mean one thing – it’s almost rosé season.
If there is one thing almost all of us can agree on, it is that a cold, crisp glass of rosé wine is the perfect way to toast summer. Which is why a new bottle at M&S has sent shoppers wild.
The high street retailer’s selection of refreshing tipples for the warmer season just got better with the brand new La Balconne Organic Provence Rosé. With its blush pink colour and fruity taste, it’s said to rival a much beloved bottle on the market.

M&S’ La Balconne was crafted in the regions of Provence by esteemed wine experts Julie Rouffignac and Gérald Lafont. The husband and wife duo used their expertise of the region’s most prestigious estates to create “a must-try for spring, summer and beyond.”
With “refreshing” notes of red berries, peach and cherry blossoms, it is said to be an “ideal match” for summer dishes including salads, pasta and the infamous ‘picky bits’. Available in Food Halls and on Ocado now, it could be the perfect tipple to toast with mum this Mother’s Day.

A 75cl bottle of this “complex” and “delicious” wine will only set you back £18 for a 75cl, based on the prices on Ocado. According to the retailer’s own description, it could be similar to the now beloved Whispering Angel that can retail at over £22 per 75cl.
With rosé season just around the corner, it’s no surprise to hear that the gorgeous pink wine has gone down a storm on Instagram, with M&S shoppers saying they are “running” to stores for the ‘new rosé in town.”
One happy customer said: “Yay! I had a sneak preview of this gem recently and it’s delicious! It’s safe to say rosé doesn’t get better than this!!”
A second enthusiastic shopper said: “Running to get myself a few bottles of this for the weekend!!”
Another wine fan expressing their thoughts said: “Shhhhh… there’s a new rose in town!” Someone else added: “This really is THE BEST Rose out there!! Just filled my fridge with it!”
Another M&S shopper eager to get their hands on the wine wrote: “Definitely not the first of the year but must try this next.”
M&S’ new expertly-crafted Rosé wine is not the only new food item to hit store shelves ahead of Mother’s Day this year. The retailer has also given its iconic caterpillar cake a bit of a makeover for the annual holiday to celebrate the mum figure in your life.
Available to buy in the M&S Food Hall now, shoppers will find the limited-edition Queen Connie that has been adorned with a pink crown, alongside crown-shaped sprinkles. The chocolatey treat is priced at £7 on the Ocado website.
The new La Balconne Organic Provence Rosé (75cl) can be bought for £18 in M&S Food Halls and on Ocado.
Other pale, blush tinted wines worth checking out include this £10.75 La Terrasse Rosé Pays d’Oc (75cl) you can buy from Sainsbury’s. Alternatively, the La Vieille Ferme Rose Wine, £6.97 at Asda, is a favourite among wine lovers on TikTok.
