CEDAR BLUFF, Va. -Business leaders from around the area got together at the Southwest Virginia Community College on Wednesday to celebrate small businesses and the people who support them through a national holiday.
It’s all part of National Small Business Development Center Day, which recognizes the SBDCs across the country for the work they do helping small businesses through business plans, financial projections, finding grant funding and more. The celebration also recognizes small businesses who have had success in our area.
Denise Harmon, the director of the SBDC at Southwest Virginia Community College says the celebration had a good turnout, with many economic and small business leaders coming to meet and network with each other to find ways they can work together.
“Other small businesses collaborate with each other and finding out how that each business could help the other business…” explains Harmon, “….I have already had a lot of businesses to thank me for this today because that they’ve got to learn of a new business within the community and within the county that could offer a service for their business.”
Harmon says you can find out more about the SBDC at Southwest Virginia Community College by going to their website or social media pages.
