AUSTIN, Texas — Three Texas Longhorns women’s basketball players have been named All-Americans for the 2024-25 season.
Forward Madison Booker was chosen as a first-team All-American. It’s the second season in a row the sophomore forward has been named to an All-American team after being named to the second team last season. Booker has averaged 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game this season.
Booker is joined on the first team by USC’s JuJu Watkins, Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo, UCLA’s Lauren Betts and UConn’s Paige Bueckers.
Fellow Longhorns joining Booker with All-American honors are senior guard Rori Harmon and senior forward Taylor Jones, who were both given honorable mention nods.
This season, Harmon became the first Longhorn to reach 1,200 points and 600 assists, doing so just one season removed from an ACL tear that sidelined her for the Longhorns’ 2023-24 season. Harmon is also second all-time on the Longhorns’ assist list with 703.
This is Harmon’s first time being recognized as an All-American, after being named to the All-Big 12 team in 2022 and 2023.
Jones has seven double-doubles this season and 22 games where she scored in double figures. She has scored 1,813 career points and reached the 1,000 career rebound milestone earlier this season.
The outstanding work of the Longhorns women’s basketball team this season earned them a 31-3 record and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Earning the No. 1 seed also means the Moody Center will host games in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, meaning the Longhorns will play at least one game at home and two if they’re able to advance past their First Round opponent, which will be either William & Mary or High Point.
The Longhorns’ first tournament game will take place at 8:45 p.m. Saturday.
