PRINCETON, W.Va. – A man is in critical condition after an early morning shooting in Princeton.

Princeton Police Department First Sgt. R.S. Gibson said police responded to a shots fired call at 2:30 a.m. this morning.

A 41-year-old man was shot at an apartment building at 415 Mercer Street and sustained wounds to his wrist and abdomen.

Gibson said the man was transported to WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital and was listed in critical condition.

No further details are available at this time as the investigation continues.
