As much as we all love a good holiday, there’s no denying that we often miss the comforts of home when we’re away. However, if you choose this charming village as your next holiday spot, you’ll feel like you’ve never left Scotland – even though you’re over 5,000km away.

It’s not unusual for us to pack a few home comforts when we travel abroad, such as our favourite tea bags or snacks that we might not be able to find overseas.

While the cuisine in this delightful village will undoubtedly differ from what’s available back home, the scenery will make you feel as though your seven-hour flight simply circled around and landed you back in the Scottish countryside.

Situated in Ontario, Canada, the peaceful village of Perth shares its name with a Scottish city – and the similarities don’t end there. Social media users have been raving about the picturesque town, which features cobbled streets, attractive shop fronts, and even a river named the Tay River – just like our very own River Tay.

Perth, Ontario, is 5,031km away from Perth, Scotland, and 5,061km away from Edinburgh. Despite the distance, the town proudly showcases its Scottish heritage through the beautiful stone buildings that line its street.

Visitors to the quaint village can also enjoy a theatre show, explore galleries, visit museums, and even take a trip to the farmer’s market.

Situated just an hour from Ottawa, the Canadian town of Perth offers a plethora of activities for those seeking an outdoor adventure. With hiking trails, golf courses, swimming pools, and skate parks, it caters to nearly every type of thrill-seeker.
