Sia has called it quits with her new husband after two years of marriage and a little less than a year after welcoming a child together.
The elusive pop music singer/songwriter, whose full name is Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, has filed for divorce from her husband Daniel Bernad.
Court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday states that the estranged couple separated Tuesday due to “irreconcilable differences.”
The petition also revealed for the first time to the public that the 49-year-old Australian artist and her doctor husband had privately welcomed a child 11 months ago. It was her third and their first together as a couple.
The name of the new baby, born on March 27, 2024, is listed in the filing as Somersault Wonder Bernad.
Sia is requesting legal and physical custody of the baby but will allow visitation rights to Bernad, who she tied the knot on Dec. 28, 2022 at Villa Olivetta, the home of fashion designers Stefano Dolce and Domenico Gabbana, in Portofino, Italy.
The “Chandelier” singer has asked the court not to grant spousal support to her ex.
In 2019, she adopted two teenage boys — one of whom was featured in the 2019 HBO documentary, “Foster,” about the Los Angeles County foster care system
Previously married to golf enthusiast and filmmaker Erik Anders Lang for two years, Sia revealed she went through in-vitro fertilization treatments during the short marriage.
“Eventually, we did get embryos, but then we also got a divorce, so I wasn’t able to use them,” Sia revealed to InStyle in 2020.
She told the outlet that she “wanted to be a mom my whole entire life.”
